Fall might be right around the corner, but not everyone is ready to leave this summer or its soundtrack in the rearview mirror.
Before we transition from "brat summer" to "demure fall," TikTok on Monday unveiled its list of the most popular tracks and artists that played on repeat during some of the longest days of the year across the country and abroad.
The conversation surrounding this year's song of summer began early, when Tommy Richman's breakout hit "Million Dollar Baby" and Sabrina Carpenter's "Espresso" were released weeks before the season officially began.
Determining which song or songs will become the season's unofficial anthem is complicated, but true contenders need to be popular throughout the season and feel like a true summer song.
TikTok has made the process simpler, basing their ranking for Top 10 Songs of the Summer on the number of times the song has been incorporated into user-generated content.

"These past few months have been an iconic hotbed for music," TikTok said in a statement. "Country blockbuster tracksand 'eighties '80s dancing, opening ceremony performances and rising female stars across K-pop, hip-hop, afro-beats, and more: the summer's biggest music moments have been popping off on TikTok."
TikTok's "Songs of the Summer" ranking does not discriminate, offering newcomers like Jordan Adetunji a place alongside certified greats like Billie Eilish.
"We're proud to continue helping emerging artists all over the world to break through ... as well as provide a platform for the world's biggest artists to connect with fans," TikTok said.
